Practice

At Dublin 8 Therapy, we work collaboratively with clients, helping them to access and develop their own personal resources and coping mechanisms.

Our psychotherapeutic approach is psychodynamic and humanistic. This means that we work to help each client explore both their past and current experiences, and to gain self-awareness and control over their own lives. We believe the development of a strong therapeutic alliance, through the collaboration of client and therapist in the work, is a strong predictor of improvement and positive outcomes.

The typical presenting issues that we can offer help with include:

  • Stress and anxiety
  • Depression
  • Guilt and shame
  • Difficulties with managing and expressing emotions
  • Relationship challenges
  • Problems with authority figures
  • Fears of success and failure
  • Marital problems
  • Grief and loss
  • Identity issues
  • Sexual abuse
  • Suicidal thoughts and self-harm
